The Tubby Horse Company is the inspired idea of singer songwriter Catherine Duguid. Originally from the North East of Scotland, she has been performing since picking up her Dad’s 1950’s Hofner President guitar at age eleven. Catherine’s eclectic musical palette is reflected in her music, although clearly influenced by Pop, Folk, Country and Scottish music.

Now based in Midlothian, the initial idea of The Tubby Horse Company was sparked on Hogmanay 2013, when asked for a CD, whilst playing in the Mayson’s bar, Dalkeith. The idea evolved, inviting fellow musicians to record on studio albums, and subsequently to perform original and cover songs with Catherine.

 

The debut album Sharing the journey was released in 2015, closely followed by LIFE GOES ON… in 2016 and most recently …anything could happen! on Hogmanay 2021. Over the years, the process has resulted in the formation of various band line ups playing throughout the Lothians and Edinburgh.
